Fall Break!!

For Fall Break we again headed down to Lake Mead. It was sooo much fun!! The water was glass everyday we were there. The kids had so much fun and I think they all turned into fish. The weather was right around 90 degrees. We couldn't have asked for better water or weather. It was just to bad that the truck had to break down on the way home. I can't complain too much because we made it all the way home and were even able to drop the boat off. It really was a fun 5 days. Thanks everyone for making it such a memorable trip! Tylyn took all the pictures and I had to put most of them on the slide show because they were so good.

Wyoming

We took a trip up to Wyoming to see Troy's Aunt last weekend. She has cancer and is not expected to make it much longer. It was sad and hard to say good by.
They have the biggest back yard ever. The kids had so much fun. They never got bored and were running around the whole time. This is the kids standing over a bridge. The creek runs through their property. Uncle Rex made this toy. The kids (and Troy and Todd) had a lot of fun running and swinging on it. Troy, Taige, Tacoma and Todd. Talon had to try it too. He was so high. Troy was running to catch him before he fell. ...and we wonder how come he had the broken arm.
Tacoma and Troy.
Swinging back to back was Tennley and Tessa. They couldn't get enough of the swings.
Troy, Todd and all the kids went for a ride in the side by side on trails behind their house. They really do have the best back yard ever. I didn't get pictures of everything we did but the kids really never stopped. On the ride there we saw a moose cross the road in front of us. It was so cool.
On the way home we drove through Bear Lake and let the kids play in the lake. They said it wasn't too cold but the rest of us opted to just put our feet in.
Tacoma and Taige playing in the water. They would of stayed in the water all day if we would of had the time.
Even the little ones got in. Kids in underwear you say. Yes, you could say we were a little white trash. They all had lots of fun splashing and sitting in the water.
Tennley, Talon and Tessa. This is Tessa and what a big girl she is. I bet you noticed her underwear. Yes, she is potty trained. She wanted to do it all by herself. She trained herself at 19 1/2 months. I didn't even have to help her a whole lot. I can't believe my youngest is potty trained and we are done with diapers. It is a bitter sweat moment. I wish they didn't have to grow up so fast.

adjusting...

Well the kids have been back in school for almost 2 weeks. I can't believe it. I am one who does not look forward to school starting. I love being on our own schedule and to come and go as we please. But I guess we must do it. With school starting that means football and soccer are here too. That is always fun. Tacoma is playing tackle football. He says he is having fun. Talon is playing his first year of soccer. He is so excited and asks me everyday if it is his game day. I can finally tell him it is today. Yeah! Taigely is doing two days a week of gymnastics now. She is enjoying it and getting closer to doing a back handspring. With all of this going on we are definitely busy but having fun! So I guess we say so long Summer and bring on Fall!!

Tacoma on his first day of 4th grade. Taigely's first day of 2nd grade. Taige and Tacoma. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. I sure do love these kids!!

A buckle..

I guess it is Talon's turn to get hurt. He was on the kitchen counter getting a cup down out of the cubbard when he slipped and fell off. We took him in to get x-rays and he has a mild buckle. He has to wear the sling for a week and the splint for 3 weeks. It can only come off once a week to clean underneath it. So far he thinks it is pretty cool to wear it, but it has only been 2 days. I hope we make it.

Family

My brother and his family were able to come out from New Jersey to spend some time with family. We had a great time with them and hated to see them leave. I wish I would have taken more pictures.
This is a picture of all the Pickett grand kids-all 17, soon to be 18. We hiked the Y mountain. My kids have always wanted to do that. Talon made it the whole way walking by himself. He was pretty proud. Chandler, Tessa, Troy and Talon. At the start of the hike.
We went to Gunnison Reservoir boating. The kids had a blast on the hot dog tube! Thanks Karl and Colette. Taige, Tacoma, Dustin, Abby and Kevin.
We went to Redmond to spend some time with the Pickett's. My Grandpa is sooo awesome. We don't get down there enough. Troy, Tessa, Tacoma and Taige playing at the park. Tubing down the Provo River. The little kids didn't go down the big river. Instead they played in the water at South Fork. Taige playing in the little river. Taige and Tacoma did go down the Provo river. They were both a little nervous but did great.
Tacoma tubing. We did so many other things but this is all I got pictures of. Thanks for all the fun!! Can you guys come out again next year?

July 24th...baseball

Taigely played coach pitch baseball this summer. Her season just ended and she had a lot of fun. Tacoma had all sorts of advise for her.Swimming lessons just ended for all of the kids. They had a good time at the pool and hopefully learned a lot too.
Taigely learning to dive into the pool. She only did a couple of belly flops.Tacoma taking a breather.Talon playing fish in the water. For the 24th of July Tacoma played in a baseball tournament with one of his 3 teams he is on. He was sick on Friday and missed 2 of the games but on Saturday he was feeling a lot better and ready to play. They played 3 games on Saturday and won the championship. It was a lot of baseball but so much fun to see the kids play hard and win the whole tournament. Tacoma was so excited!! We have definitely been to a lot of baseball between Tacoma and Taigely's games. I think we are finally finished with baseball for the season and looking forward to tackle football!!Tacoma with his trophy! Way to go buddy!!

4th of July Celebration!

We had a busy but fun 4th of July weekend. It seemed like we were always doing something. I guess that is a good thing. We started off with a baseball tournament. Tacoma played in 4 games then they were knocked out of the tournament so that left Saturday open. We went 4 wheeling up at Strawberry and then had a BBQ. On Monday I actually talked Troy into going to the Parade in Provo with all 300,000 people. What was I thinking? We got there right before it started and sat at the beginning of the route. The kids really enjoyed it, so I am glad we went. After the Parade we went on a bike ride all the way up to Bridal Veil Falls. The kids made it the whole way. After that adventure Tacoma had baseball practice. He was selected to play on the All Star team this year. That tournament starts this weekend. While Tacoma was at practice the rest of us wanted to play ball too, so we brought along our baseball stuff to hit and field balls at the park. After all of the ball playing we decided to make homemade ice cream. We had a ball doing it. After that we headed over to our friends house to have smores and do fireworks. We all had a great time and enjoyed our 4th of July!

Talon is completely asleep. The 4 wheeler always puts our kids to sleep. Tessa had just woken up.

At the Parade. Talon and Tessa playing in the water and rocks at the falls.
Taige climbing up the face of the falls.
Troy and Tacoma climbed up the face of the falls and made it to the top.
Making our ice cream. We had a lot of fun rolling around our ball of ice cream.
What a weekend!

I don't think he really gets it because he keeps asking if he has school today. He has enjoyed his time at Mrs. Laura's preschool. He has learned so much and is getting closer and closer to kindergarten. I can't believe that. Well, that is one year of preschool down and 1 more still to go. Congratulations Talon! You are getting soo smart!!

In preschool Talon has gone on several field trips this year. These first few are at Thanksgiving Point. Let me out..He had a good time riding the horse.
